About me
I’m Mikaela Fridh, an abstract artist based in Malmö, Sweden.
My work explores colours and forms through soft, muted tones – often in warm and earthy palettes. I create pieces that bring presence, depth and emotion into a space. Although my work is abstract, texture often plays an important role in the process. I’m drawn to tactile surfaces and layered materials that add movement, contrast and a subtle sculptural quality.
I’ve always been deeply affected by the environments around me. I firmly believe that certain spaces have the ability to shift the way we feel. That sensitivity has shaped both my art practice and my longstanding interest in interiors.
Much of my work is influenced by personal experience and by the different ways we process the world around us. It has deepened my sensitivity to nuance, repetition and subtle shifts.
I work intuitively and allow each piece to evolve slowly. For me, art is not only about what we see, but about how a space feels. Sometimes quiet and grounding. Other times expressive, alive and full of movement.
